In one of the classic "Jerry/Ken vs Stephen" email threads, Jerry made the comment about cars now having "metric oil systems" or something to that effect (my disclaimer for Ken. :)
I made comments about how if the capacities fall on hard metric, then that's just lucky....but that I still wonder why oil and fluids for cars are still sold in quarts in this country.
I changed the oil in my 2001 Audi Allroad 2.7T last night and flipped to the manual to look at capacities. I was surprised to see two of the fluid capacities falling directly on quarts.
According to the manual, the car takes exactly 6 quarts of oil and 5 quarts of windshield washer fluid. 5.7 liters of oil....and I think what...4.6 liters of washer fluid if I remember correctly.
Interesting...but it also backs up my point about fluid capacities on cars.
