The writer of that website article is Polish, but vodka by the gram is one
reference that I just don't get.  There may have been a custom of noting the
amount of vodka by the gram.  I was too young when I left to have learned
any drinking traditions other than "half-liter" being a casual reference to
a bottle of booze.  I'll ask around and find out.
