Mr Harper, Pat sirs:>As an adjective (answering the questions which, what kind of, or how many), the word "metric" is what >this forum is all about: referring to SI units. I thought the FORUM intends to promote SI Metric Units - Le Systeme Internationale d'Unites and NOT to debate its being a 'noun or verb' for literature, addition. If this be so, let the TERM METRIC be referred to: "The system of Metric units, if and if, they relate to the Length unit - Metre, as ONE-10^5th of arc-angle Pi/180 i.e. One degree". As an adjective (answering the questions which, what kind of, or how many), the word "metric" is what this forum is all about: referring to SI units. I have not studied the etymology of the word back to antiquity, but I suspect that "meter" is derived from "metric" which most likely comes from some ancient word for the idea of "to measure." As a minimum, they need a "disambiguation" page that leads to that usage or the SI with some clarity. [[Metric]] is already a disambig. I put a "see" line at the beginning.
