This (Jan/Feb) 1974 article points out Ford was already manufacturing two 
vehicle lines in metric, and mentioned GM's announcement that they would soon 
design and manufacture in metric.

Of course, it also contains some charming errors (or optimism?) such as NASA 
being completely metric since 1970,  Tell that to the Mars Climate Orbitter, or 
the Constellation program.

One of Feehery's clients was Ford Motor Co. GM metricated in 1973. When did 
Ford?
