It is my belief that without the influence of Benjamin Franklin,
Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington, the metric system would not
have been developed in France in the 1780s and 1790s.
The contribution made by these three world leaders arose firstly
from their cooperation in developing and implementing the idea that
the currency of the USA could be subdivided by decimal fractions so
that money calculations could then be little more difficult that any
normal whole number calculation …
