Today I bought a nice Fossil watch from a dealer down in Salt Lake City
since I was down there on business and needed one anyway. The saleswoman was
very nice and answered all my questions, and when I asked her the depth to
which it was waterproof she said 100 meters or 330 feet. However, when I got
it home I noticed that it has the pressure rating labeled clearly on the
watch face as 10 ATM, which I'm assuming is atmospheres.

The nice feature of the watch is that it does have a 24 hour time dial as
well as the regular 12 hour one , and it's easy to read etc, but this is the
first watch I've ever owned that has a non metric unit for that type of
thing on it. All the other one's I've owned have said up to ten meters or
whatever.

Is this a common trend in the watch industry or is this just Fossil being
Fossil and an American company? For those of you interested in seeing a
picture of the watch, I've posted a link for your viewing pleasure. Notice
how the site lists all the other dimensions in metric yet when you click the
picture you can see the atmosphere rating :)
