Off topic. May they drive upside down as long as it¹s metric.

Subject: [USMA:45765] Samoans shift to the left

To the left side of the road when driving, that is.

It seems (according to the BBC news story I just heard) that many Samoans
have relatives living in Australia and New Zealand and they want to take
advantage of cheaper cars that can be imported from there. They may also
want to avoid the disruptions that come with frequent changing of the side
of the road you drive on given all the travel that apparently happens
between Samoa and those other two countries.

I've heard of countries changing from the left side of the road to the right
(such as Sweden in the sixties ... if I have the decade right), but I've
never heard of the reverse until now. Does anyone have any info on that? Or
is Samoa the first to change from driving on the right hand side to the
left?

Ezra
