Dear Stan,
Thanks for the comment. Do you recall this article, Is 07 04 2007 the
fourth of July? that you can find at: http://www.metricationmatters.com/docs/Is07042007TheFourthOfJuly.pdf
?
It's a short article and two years old, but I think that it is still
relevant to your observation about date formats. I suppose that date
formats are strictly off the subject of metrication but it has a small
relevance in that it refers to agreed international standards.
By the way, I have begun to use a blog at http://metricationmatters.blogspot.com
if you are interested.
Cheers,

Hi Pat:
An interesting note is that no one can be confused by the three
different date formats used around the world for the specific dates
you show.

Dear All,
On this most interesting date in the calendar, now might be the time
to reflect on metrication activities for a year and a month hence,
when the date will be 10-10-10.
This might make an auspicious date for planned metrication
activities. Starting now might give enough time to organise major-
scale events.
USMA member, Sally Mitchell has previously suggested this date for
the completion of metrication in the USA.
