While some would like to see our nation convert to the metric system, others believe that such a change would be an unnecessary, costly, and difficult adjustment.
Senator Durbin's letter doesn't take a position either way. I wonder if it's a form letter that his office has generated in response to many inquiries from the public because it's a relatively lengthy response. That's in comparison to a response from my Democratic House representative that was worded very similarly (maybe exactly the same) as a response I got from her Republican predecessor: that's she'll watch for proposed legislation and keep my thoughts in mind.
