I have contributed to the discussion of how to metricate American football and I'd like to defend myself (and other contributors) against critics who argue that we should not talk about it.

Although I have contributed to the discussion of HOW to convert American football to metric, I would like to clarify that I have not suggested that SHOULD convert American football to metric.

There are values, I think, in discussing (even arguing) among ourselves about how this could be done. It is an interesting challenge. However, we don't need to suggest proposing it to the American public or anyone else.
