You need both cases to make the case for metric ;) If a font doesn't have 
distinct upper and lower case, it should not be used for unit symbols. If 
they are distinct, but the lower case is small capitals, it'd take me a while 
to figure out which symbol they wrote.

You could as easily say that the cup is claiming to measure electromagnetism 
in petateslas and coulombs.
