Yes, there should be some discussion of SI in the AAAS meeting. When will President Obama act on EO 12770? He can do that without additional action by Congress.

        The lectures and symposia for the AAAS 2010 annual meeting
are listed in the 8 January 2010 issue of Science. Do you know of
any metric or measurement unit matters in this meeting. The
meeting starts 18 February.

        Should we contact any of the organizers or presenters
before the meeting starts?

        While I say the whole meeting should have no inch-pound
units, I am not aware that AAAS has such a policy.  So, I mention
a couple of symposia that might do well to promote metric:
        Building Bridges Between Ocean Scientists, Educators,
        and Students
        Eyes on Screen: Communicating Science in the New
        Information Age
