The UK is a 'mixed' environment, ie some imperial and some metric.  Your link 
to a website that sells hydraulic briquette squeezing presses confirms that 
metric does get used in the UK.  It also gets used in the US and one can find 
many websites which shows this - perhaps even briquette squeezing press 
machines.

To all those who say that the UK is not really metric:
 
I was researching the town of Axminster on Google, and came across this website 
regarding hydraulic bricquette presses.  All specs as far as I can see are in 
metric units.
