I brought up the article, but where's the draft? The only clue I saw about metric is the teaching of fractions, which aren't needed when adding or multiplying anything in metric. Does the draft say anything about recognizing multiples of small integers (useful for checking), casting out nines (ditto), or hexadecimal (useful for computers)?
