This is part of a message I wrote to a running buddy about today's Boston Marathon. Feel free to check my math.

The guy ran the marathon, which is 42.195 km (usually rounded to 42.2), in 2:05:52, or 125.87 minutes, which means he averaged 2.983 minutes (2:59) per km or every 100 m in 17.9 seconds! It is also an average speed of 20.1 km/h. I often do not average that speed riding my road bike!

Sports fans, this is almost unbelievable.
