Dear All,

I've just watched this 3 minute TED talk video again, and I am intrigued by the role of the 'first follower' and the 'second follower'. As Derek Sivers says:

'The first follower is what transforms a lone nut into a leader.'

'When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first one to stand up and join in.'

How many of us in the metrication community sometimes feel like 'lone nuts'.

My approach in future will be to play the part of the 'first follower' or the 'second follower' and support anybody who has the courage to stand out from the crowd when they promote the metric system and its use in the modern world.

By the way, I am addicted to TED Talks. If you want to see some of the best speakers in the world speaking about subjects they are passionate about, go to http://www.ted.com

Cheers,
