Having recently purchased a table saw, I have now added some tools to aid in set-up of the saw and the wood I plan to cut. I found a fairly inexpensive line for sale via Amazon.com that are digital. Those measuring length can be set to read out in millimeters and in fact when first powered up those were the units set. Perhaps these tools would interest some of you.

The tools (made in China) are:
Wixey WR100 6-inch digital calipers
        $34.99
Wixey WR200 digital height Gauge
        $49.99
Wixey WR300 digital angle gauge
        $31.98
Wixey WR410 8-inch digital protractor
        $$44.99

These run on lithium cells (1 each) which were provided. In fact, two of the items included a spare cell! My initial impression is that the quality of the workmanship on these is excellent; we will see how they hold up to usage. Of course, at these prices traceability to registered standards is not available so I can not address their imputed "accuracy". Nor do I have any gage blocks, etc., with which to check them.
