I usually try to run it to a round dollar amount after first shutoff. The receipt prints in milligallons.
As an aside, it is snowblower season here and I had to mix oil and gas for my 2-cycle snowblower. In spite of one conversion, I find it easier to measure the oil in milliliters, multiply by gas/oil ratio, and convert the liters to target gallons I will dispense into the gas can. It would be easier if the pump would let me see liters dispensed. My snowblower was obviously designed by a metric person and wants 50:1 mix. If I had to use ounces and gallons, I would cheat and use 48:1. ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: U.S. Metric Association <[email protected]> Cc: U.S. Metric Association <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, December 8, 2010 9:39:35 AM Subject: [USMA:49058] Re: new fuel economy label under review by EPA Re: Re: Nissan Leaf I do not know about that...but I do know that everyday American like to use whole numbers 1, 2, 3 not 3.785 Liter (metric gallon) "Dear Ron, To be facetious -- aren't all fuel pumps in the USA already calibrated in litres -- expressed in lots of 3.785 412 E-03 litres at a time? The oil companies just forgot to write on the pumps something like: "As required by national standards in the USA, we use metric gallons" Cheers, Pat Naughtin " Id put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we dont have to wait til oil and coal run out before we tackle that. I wish I had a few more years left. -- Thomas Edison♽☯♑
