I generally don't have a problem with Fox News. I originally hoped to Google and find a similar article from Canada, Australia, (or AFP) that was all metric and blame the inches and acres on the AP Style Guide. That wasn't what I found though; the author has been pushing approximately the same story for a supplements company since 2003, a few words have changed in various versions of the story. I would have to say that Fox erred in covering the piece at all, and for giving the impression it was a new discovery. Readers should not have to "investigate" the news reported to them.

I posted my first message to celebrate the metric units that I saw in the article. I did not post it to speak for or against the lifeflower or FoxNews.com. I did, however, attempt to clarify the nature of my source for the article, FoxNews.com, since M. Bruiex seemed to be unfamiliar with it and wondered if it were of the same genre as The Onion. People should decide for themselves how they feel about the lifeflower and Fox News. This is not an appropriate forum for such discussions. But I would hope that they would decide that metric units are more useful than non-metric units. Jim On 2011-01-18 1713, John M.
