This may sound like a flippant answer but actually it is not. The mass
of the kilogram that they will be aiming for is ... 1 kg.
There is every desire in the scientific, engineering, and commercial
arenas to have the mass come out to be as close as we can get it to our
present-day understanding of the size of a kilogram. The "new value"
will certainly fall within our limits of uncertainty in realizing the
old value.

point that I am concerned about. I think that the CGPM, CIPM. or the BIPM needs
to make clear statements on the value of the kilogram that they intend to aim
for. They could do this after taking into account the points made by John
Steele about the order of accuracy in a previous post.
