Pat paid a fair amount of his own money to do this. Besides the cost of
envelopes, paper and printing, the US stamps cost $238.04 (541 x $0.44), and
I noted postage on the box of AUD $130 (the Australian dollar, Canadian
dollar, and US dollar are all about equal now).

What he did was address all the envelopes (110 x 220 mm), stuffed them with
a one-page letter (no doubt A4), then put them all in a box, unstamped, and
send them to me. I bought the stamps (he sent me the money for that on
Paypal) at Costco, stamped the envelopes, and took them all to the
Gaithersburg (appropriately) post office.

We did it this way because that was still cheaper than putting Australian
foreign postage on all the envelopes.

It didn't take long and I was glad to help him with this worthy effort.

Dear All,

You may recall that I resolved a few weeks ago that I would write to all
Members of Congress putting my view of the current state of metrication in
the USA.

Here is the result:

I wish to thank all of the people who helped me with advice and physical
help with this project. The project proved to be more difficult than I
anticipated as most Members of Congress bar people from outside the USA from
contacting them via email; so a special thank you to Carleton MacDonald and
his son who helped me with the mailing.

Cheers,
