Why?
Because it is NOT just SI. 
Ye Olde English units will be revised in exactly the same way, automatically, 
since they are defined in terms of SI units.

Why give opponents of SI any more facetious "arguments" against metric by 
allowing them to think and argue that SI is bad because it is changeable, 
uncertain, imprecise, being tinkered with, etc.

The emphasis should be on the fact that fundamental standards are being 
improved to be more precise and thus improving ALL measurements, metric and 
otherwise. It is "New Precision" (or some such phrase), not "New SI".
