Today, I received a *form letter* from my Senator Richard J. Durbin in response
to my complaint that CAT (a corporation headquartered in Illinois) is sending
jobs overseas to Germany and China. I enclosed a reprint of Patrick's Article.

The first paragraph of Senator Durbin' letter states:

"Thank you for contacting me regarding job loss and the outsourcing of U.S.
jobs to workers overseas. I appreciate hearing from you."

Five more paragraphs explain the steps he is taking to reverse the loss of
jobs.
Among them is introduction of the "Patriot Employers Act" which would reward
employers who increase or preserve full time jobs in the United States.

Senator Durbin says nothing about my request that he support amendment of the
FPLA to permit metric-only labeling of domestic and imported packages.

I have not received replies from Senator Kirk or from Representative Johnson.
