Good idea Harry to go metric; however to do it piecemeal like you suggest would be very costly to government (the taxpayer).
Better to do it for all like 7-UP did with its 2-litre bottle in the soft drink industry. In Canada last summer I noted that milk comes in 2 L cartons that are visibly almost identical to the standard US versions. They take up exactly the same shelf space but are just a small bit taller. I have always believed that all it would take would be for the Commander in Chief to order--or suggest to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-- that all military PXs stock milk in 2 L cartons.
