This was a budget meeting between the committee and NSF and NIST. It is very interesting. After several minutes into the meeting, Mr. Roscoe Bartlett (R, 6th Congressional district, Maryland) asks the director of NSF about the cost to the country of not metricating fully, and indicates his adamant support for metrication. here is the webcast link - http://science.edgeboss.net/wmedia/science/sst2011/031111.wvxme After watching his comments, I called his Washington Office to applaud him for his outspoken support of metric instruction in our k-12 classrooms.
