Recently visited Guatemala, officially metric with some exceptions caused by United States influence. Many addresses reference how many kilometers along a certain road rather than a street number. Fuel for cars was sold locally in liters, yet the fuel truck at the airport in Guatemala City had only a US Gallon fuel quantity gauge (I assume it was not Imperial). It was a fairly new US fuel truck with fuel sold by Chevron Guatemala Inc. I also noted that the Fuel sheet for the pumped fuel had the fuel temperature °F and a place for the API gravity. This is somewhat akin to Relative Density except water has an API of 10.0° API. Jet fuel has a relative density of 0,82 or 820 g/l. Interesting page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/API_gravity
The altimeter setting at the airport was given in both hectopascals and inches of mercury. Visibility was in meters, cloud height in feet. Another interesting aspect to this country is how few people speak English, even in hotels. I don’t think I’ve been to a hotel on the planet where the front desk did not speak English, except for Guatemala!
