Scott is correct. It is all Congress' fault. They specifically chose in the law to exempt meat, even in standard weight packages, and the Federal agencies responsible for the detailed rules may not exceed the authority delegated by Congress. The manufacturer is permitted to add metric if he wishes, but is not required to do so.

UPC: 764014 216535 On the Nutritional Facts: It gives fat and other items in g for grams. No metric is given on the front.
