Let letters CE are a European Union quality mark denoting that the volume certification was done according to EU standards licencing laws. Doesn't this mean that the pint in the UK -- wherever used including pubs and milk delivered in glass bottles -- is a metric pint? I don't know what the letters CE mean but I think that I am safe in assuming that the word pint, in this context refers to a metric pint as agreed by the English speaking nations in 1859. By the way, in my measurements of pub pints in England, all ten of the pints I measured contained 500 millilitres or slightly less based on my methods and my assumption that the word pint means 570 mL. I did not allow for the liquid component of the froth content at all -- thank you for your advice on this -- I will consider it further.
