>From my colleague in Canada: As John said below, all the courses in Canada he's played on (primarily Ontario and BC), are only in yards.
All the courses he played on in Oz and NZ are only in metres. The one course I mentioned near where I live in the UK, dual marked, was built only 9 years ago, and with an EU grant, which may well explain why it's dual marked. I only sampled a few courses from this Canadian guide, but they were all yards: http://www.worldgolf.com/courses/canada/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: Parker Willey Jr. <[email protected]> To: U.S. Metric Association <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, June 20, 2011 12:45:36 PM Subject: [USMA:50690] Do Golf Courses outside the US measure in meters? I think this might have been brought up before but I have a question. In the United States, golf course distances are still measured in yards. How are golf course distances measured in UK, Canada, Australia, etc. If everybody else measures in meters, then, maybe we should make a case for changing this in the USA. ...Parker
