i recently drove a Chevy Impala rental for about one month in and around the
California Bay Area. i switched the console to metric units mainly to have
temperature displayed in terms of C. the console also displayed speed in
terms of 'km/h' for which at first the higher numeric value had surprised
me. yet i soon adapted to 'km/h' and didn't experience much difficulty
observing road speed limits that were anyway posted in terms of the
customary 'miles per hour'.

i am unaware of any console or road speed guideline that is yet configurable
in terms of an AAT ICAS meter solana (meters per tik) comparison [
http://www.aatideas.org/icas/2092.xht], however it may be that the meter
solana comparison is more robustly metric than those scales that are
expressed in terms of a customarily-derived hour.

now on holiday, cheers,

Ron
