The Bathhurst 1000 is an Australian motorcar race.  The US broadcaster,
following typical US media denial that metric is used anywhere in the world,
has specially contracted to ensure they are provided with graphics dumbed down
to US Customary so that no one in the US sees terrible words like litre and
kilometre.  I don't need censored car races and won't be watching.

Hey SPEED, most of us at least have secondary km/h indication on our
speedometers and water or soda in liter sizes.  Thanks for taking the
International flavor out of the race.

As part of the deal, V8 organisers will be providing SPEED with a purpose-built
set in pit lane for both events, and will convert all race graphics from the
kilometres/litres metric system used in Australia to the miles/gallons
measurements understood by Americans. SPEED will share the resources of V8
Supercars Television, which produces the live pictures for the Seven Network in
Australia.
