FYI: There's a bill in the House to stop printing the $1 bill (H.R. 2977). I've written to my representative asking for his support and I hope you'll do the same.

Text of bill: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.2977:

------
Rep. Wolf, <-- **** replace with your Congress critter's name ***
I'm writing to ask for your support of H.R.2977, the COINS Act (Currency Optimization, Innovation and National Savings) sponsored by Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.)

The act will cease production of the paper $1 bill, allowing the $1 coin to take its place and save the Federal Government several hundred million dollars in expense each year. It would also have the effect of increasing circulation of the $2 bill since using the $2 bill would require at most a single $1 coin to be needed as change in any single cash transaction.
