The site Astronomy Picture of the Day is a wonderful one for anyone the
slightest bit interested in astronomy, but they often use a mix of
measurements. I am asking them to simplify things. Maybe others will
do the same, but check out their website first.

I love your APOD site. You have absolutely wonderful photographs!
My suggestion: Let's ditch the old English miles and feet and stick to
metric in describing elevations, distances, and all the rest. This
observer would like to get rid of the U.S. so-called "customary"
measurements, and you could do your part.
