Look at examples in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilometre and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hectare. When choosing them, I tried to get a balance between the US-centric examples and UK-centric examples.

I have some decent ones for area (at least for someone who lives in southern California, United States), but am not comfortable with the examples for volume and weight.
