On the other hand, I was watching "factory made" on the science channel and everything is in customary units. Sad for such a good program. I wonder if there is a way to influence the media that uses science to be metric.

This particular segment treated of 9/11. All distances mentioned, including driving distances by car, were given in kilometres. In addition, the word itself was pronounced properly, with the accent on the first syllable of the prefix. If only the Discovery Channel would do all of its series in this way!
