Well, this author has fallen into the trap of "the oft repeated canard."

Apparently watts have miraculously become "US units."  The most trivial 
research, (looking at one box of lightbulbs) instead of plagarizing another 
article, would reveal that all boxes lightbulbs, regardless of type, have been 
labelled in watts, lumens and hours of life for years.
 
I salute the demise of 0.134 HP bulb (or should it be 341 BTU/h?).
