Pierre, Good luck with your test. A few bits of advice
1. Make sure that you understands the difference between the survey foot/mile etc and the international foot/mile. For everybody else, the UK does not have this problem because the imperial (as opposed to the customary) system of measure was never used for measurements made to 6 significant figures, out surveyors went metric before the war. 2. Play dumb on the metric/customary unit front unless specifically asked to do otherwise - you will be able to do much better work reforming the system of measurement from inside the profession after you have passed than from outside it before you have passed. I've been working through the practice test. The only problem I've seen that has any metric units is one in which a thermometer, known to be a few degrees off, displays a temperature in Fahrenheit and they want to know what the true Celsius temperature is.
