IKEA normally includes a simple Allen wrench in the bag of small parts, if
there are fasteners that require that. The store assumes you have a flat
head and a Phillips screwdriver, however.

"All those cheap goods from China are metric and they throw a cheap metric
wrench in the box so you can assemble it."

I've yet to see ANY product from China that includes a metric wrench, cheap
or otherwise. I suspect the rest of your "facts" are equally inaccurate.

Well John, he sure told you off! But for his and your information, this
past week I purchased a small end table from a local furniture store and not
only did it come with a cheap 5.5 mm allen wrench, the fasteners were a real
muddle. There were two lengths, a 1/4 inch x 45 mm and the other was a 1/4
inch x 13 mm.

I wanted to get the table together or I would have taken one of the bolts to
work to see if the screw was a true 1/4 inch or possibly an M6.

I don't know if this Ivan Negodki is the same at this link, but why would a
101 year old man care about the US metricating?

Now, this link says 63. So here is the pot calling the kettle black.
