This was the summary given in FoxNew's headline service. Note that no translation into inch-pound was given. The full story is given at

In the full story, heights are given in metres, with yards in parentheses thereafter.

It seems that FoxNews, which is by far the most popular cable new channel, garnering more viewers than all the other cable news channels combined, is favoring metric, even to the point of using metric only in its headline service. Maybe because FoxNews wants to be international, as CNN, which it bets in viewship hands down. Maybe because it is just tired doing incessant conversions to inch-pound when the sources use metric.
