No joy. Stanley 33-726 is a dual marked, 8 m/26' tape. Tons of those. I looked at the first 50 Google listings trying to find some true metric-only tapes (most are dual) and found only the following: *FastCap PMMR-5m (and some other lengths) offered at a number of places
*Lufkin 3, 5, and 8 m tapes at Duckwork Boat Builders and 8m only at Amazon *Starret offers a few metric only tapes, look for S6 and S8 graduation styles, Maryland Metrics carries them. others may too I apologize to any manufacturers or distributers missed, but after 50 Google listings, I was tired of sorting wheat from chaff. They DO exist, but almost qualify as "scarcer than hen's teeth." ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: U.S. Metric Association <[email protected]> Sent: Tue, January 1, 2013 6:55:35 PM Subject: [USMA:52092] Re: Interview of Paul Trusten in "Failure" Magazine Paul-- I'm impressed. The editor didn't even get in the usual gratuitous anti-metric editorial digs. Even the Wall Street Journal editor had to take a few whacks! The editor makes an error, however, when he added an accompanying illustration, in which he stated that a certain metric tool is not available in the U.S., when actually that tool is readily available. The 8 m Stanley tape measure is in fact available in the United States, through the world's largest consumer site, Amazon.com. If you go into the Tools & Home Improvement department and search on "Stanley tape measure metric," it will be displayed as the first item (#33-726).
