Dear New York State Residents, Please help!
The State of New York has not yet adopted the 1999 amendment to the Uniform Packaging and Labeling Regulation (UPLR) (NIST Handbook 130, 2013, p. 89, Sec. 11.33) that permits optional metric-only labeling of certain consumer products not regulated by federal law. Adoption of this UPLR amendment is vital to making the argument to the Congress that the federal Fair Packaging and Labeling Act should be amended likewise to allow the metric-only option nationally. If you support the adoption of this amendment in New York, Please tell your Weights and Measures Director, Mike Sikula.
