Probably not much help to you, but Aldi (a chain of German discount
supermarkets operating in the UK) sell 30-m metric only surveyor's tapes
(i.e wind-up). I bought one a couple of years ago, and it is excellent - no
inches cluttering up the markings. Whether you could buy them for the US I
have no idea.
