I noticed recently when I went on line to calculate postage that Step 5 where one enters weight, two options are now available: Standard and Metric. When one clicks on Metric, one finds Kilograms, not grams, even for something as light as a one-ounce letter which the Post Office program calculates to 0.0283 kilograms. When you type in 0.03 kilograms and click back and forth to Standard, the program changes it to the unrounded 0.0283 kilograms. The Post Office took a step in a good direction, but it is not ideal. Our nagging produced results. Pat yourself on the back all you who contacted them.

I went to www.usps.com today to find the cost to mail a letter. I see there is now an option to Enter weight as "Metric".

I and others have written suggesting such, obviously someone listened.

Great News.
