Just as I thought. It sounds like this Jacobson has a personal agenda. He's not a scientist in the strict sense of the term, but a lobbyist, who is pushing his own opinions under the guise of a nice-sounding organization name.

The USMA needs to educate him. Maybe he's just out of it. Everyone else is using grams in nutrition. Paul Trusten has made a very convincing argument against teaspoons.

From B.J. White: "Here is Jacobson's bio from the website. Michael F.
Jacobson, Ph.D., is co-founder and executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a nonprofit health advocacy organization supported largely by the 850,000 subscribers to its Nutrition Action Healthletter. CSPI is a key player in battles against obesity, cardiovascular disease, and other health problems, using tactics ranging from education to legislation to litigation. Jacobson has written numerous books and reports, including Nutrition Scoreboard, Six Arguments for a Greener Diet, "Salt: the Forgotten Killer," and "Liquid Candy: How Soft Drinks are Harming Americans? Health.""
