*The American Society for Testing of Materials, officially known as ASTM
International, and best known as simply ASTM, is the one of
the largest standards writing organization in the world. In the last issue
of its STANDARDIZATION NEWS, a monthly magazine, there is an article Of SI
and Standards that summarizes the results of the ASTM longstanding policy
that only SI be used in all new standards, and old ones be modified at
updates. The link to the article:*

.

*In particular, the article states that "of the standards that do
use measurement units, 51 % (about 6000 documents) use SI only, 33 % use
non-SI units, 16 % use both SI and other, and 17 % use no units (of any
kind).*

*The rules for the use of units at ASTM are written in the famous Bluebook,*
