I saw it too. It reminds me how every aspect of American life is divided right
down the middle. One branch of the military speaks metric (army), another
strictly USC (navy) and a third, split in two (air force). I’m not sure where
the marines fit in, unless they follow the army. Industry is the same way
where half use metric and the other half don’t and the left hand doesn’t do
business with the right hand.

Part of the reason to do this may be to satisfy international audiences who may
increasingly be turned off to American films that use units they don’t
understand. So, like the Cosmos series there is a confusing mixture.

I’m sure though that most of the American audience didn't even pay attention to
the measurement muddle.

Subject: [USMA:53830] Gojira /Godzilla in new movie.

The new Godzilla movie is good. One can sense the fustration in its eyes
saving humanity once again and being shot at by the military! What is also
noteworthy is no attempt at conversion of units. The movie makers show the US
Navy speaking feet and Nautical Miles while the US Army speaks Klicks (km} and
meters. Also the audience has to follow along, there is no character or
subtitle converting, the units stand alone. However, I can tell just by
estimating that Gojira saves humanity megaliters of blood ;)
Have fun seeing it.
