Mr Mundie. Please have a closer look at the introductory page; it says that the site is dedicated to Metric Pioneer Antoine Lavoisier. The site is in honour of the first Metric Pioneer who lived in la France. In America, where SI is widely hated by most civilians, being a Metric Pioneer in an American context is the sentiment I intend to inspire by naming the site Metric Pioneer. I hope you consider my response to your concern. Please write back. I would love to get word from you again. I hope you consider becoming a Metric Pioneer member. (Register at top left.) By the way, I have posted a new video on YouTube staring my son Itai and his girlfriend Destaney. The acting is a little crude but I hope the message gets through to young Americans. (See a link to Metric Pioneer YouTube videos at top right near American flag.)

From: David Mundie <[email protected]> Subject: Is it too late to change your site's name? Message Body: I really love your site, and think it provides a very useful service. However, I feel very very strongly that the name "Metric Pioneer" is *terrible*. (a) It is completely inappropriate on a planet where 96% of people already use the metric system; we are the stragglers, *not* the pioneers. (b) To say that "we're pioneers in the U.S." is to buy into the American exceptionalism that got us into this mess in the first place. (c) It conveys the exact opposite message to what we *should* be sending, which is not a perilous, difficult, lonely, potentially futile adventure in the wasteland, but instead a life of comfort and well-being in the well-established, mature metrological heaven that the metric system offers. --This mail is sent via contact form on Metric Pioneer http://metricpioneer.com
