Is it true the syringe was in milligrams and not millilitres?  Or was this a 
special syringe calibrated for the 12 mg/mL for the Tamiflu?  A problem with 
this is that parents may keep the milligram calibrated syringe around for 
future use and mistake the milligrams for millilitres.

Did you catch it?  On tonight's (July 15) NBC TV world news with Brian 
Williams, there was a piece on the medication screw-ups with mL, teaspoons, 
tablespoons, etc. discussed.  At the end the NBC staff MD, Nancy Snyderman 
(sp?) finished up by telling people to exclusively use syringe-like liquid 
medicine dispensers marked in mL, and "I think it is time to switch to the 
metric system."  Williams added, "At least for this purpose".
