I have stayed out of this conversation so far, but then decided that I should watch the video, and see for myself. What came over is that she can be interpreted in both ways. At first she does mock America for not converting, but then seems to swing a little bit the other way, as if she was championing America’s refusal to go with the rest of the world in this regard. But on balance, I think she was criticising those who refuse to learn something new (i.e. the metric system), but have to say I agree with Mark Henschel in that she did not come over very clear.

I would presume not (based on your words). It is not a matter of viewers being evenly divided as your comment would suggest (a one to one ratio or 50% to 50%), but rather, as John Steele says, a ratio of many to one. The video clearly pokes fun at the common American who is generally clueless about metric measures. The one person with a seemigly incoherent perspective on just about everything we discuss unsurprisingly has the opposite opinion.
