The latest UKMA newsletter contains news that the UK's Department for Transport will phase out imperial-only vehicle height and width signs, such as are used for underpasses, etc. Starting in April they will require dual-labeled signs. Those have been recommended in the past but will then become mandatory. Of course, the UKMA's hope is that eventually such signs and all road signs will become metric-only.

Also, the Smith Commission has recommended to Parliament that speed limit and traffic signs should be devolved to the Scottish Parliament. If that happens, there is a strong possibility that those might be required by the Scottish Parliament to be metric, similar to those on the European continent.

The newsletter ends with a cute photograph, which is attached here.
